Frequently asked questions

Questions before take-off.

Every pet and every route is different, but these are the questions we answer most often — about relocation, paperwork, crates, vet care and boarding.

How early should I start planning my pet's relocation?

Start as early as you can. Many routes need 8–16 weeks for vaccinations, laboratory tests and permit windows. Australia and other complex destinations can take considerably longer.

Which countries do you relocate pets to?

We build routes worldwide. The destinations we handle most often are the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa and Georgia — but if your country is not on that list, ask us and we will check the airline and the rules.

Does the microchip have to come before the rabies vaccination?

Yes, for most destinations. If a pet is vaccinated against rabies before it is microchipped, many authorities will not accept that vaccination and it has to be repeated, restarting the timeline.

What is a rabies titer test and who needs one?

It is a blood test measuring rabies antibodies after vaccination. Rabies-free and rabies-controlled destinations use it to confirm the vaccination worked. The sample must be drawn at the right interval and sent to an approved laboratory, and many countries then require a waiting period counted from the sample date.

Will my pet be safe during the flight?

We select pet-friendly routes and carriers, fit an IATA-compliant crate and prepare your pet before departure. Airline procedures vary, so we review every connection, aircraft type and seasonal restriction on the route.

Should my pet be sedated for the flight?

Sedation is generally advised against for air travel, and many airlines will refuse a sedated animal. Altitude affects breathing and temperature regulation, and a sedated pet cannot right itself if the crate shifts. Crate familiarisation is the better preparation.

Can you help with the travel crate?

Yes. We measure your pet, size and source the correct IATA-compliant crate, fit it out with bowls, bedding and labelling, and give you a crate familiarisation plan for the weeks before travel.

Do you relocate pets into Uganda as well as out?

Yes. We can guide import requirements, arrival handling and onward transport. Share your departure country and preferred date so we can check the route.

Do you handle cats as well as dogs?

Yes — cats travel with us regularly, and our pet hotel has a separate cat wing with individual suites away from the dogs.

What does my pet need before a hotel stay?

Up-to-date vaccinations and recent parasite treatment, plus their usual food and a familiar blanket. Send us their veterinary records when you book and we will tell you if anything is due.

Can you give medication while my pet boards?

Yes. Medication is administered by our veterinary team on the schedule you give us, and recorded each day.

Will I get updates while my pet is boarding?

Yes — photos and videos of meals, exercise and how they are settling, sent to your WhatsApp wherever you are.

Do you offer emergency veterinary care?

Reception is open Mon–Sun 8:00am–6:30pm, with in-house cover for emergencies between 7:00pm and 7:00am.

Can you collect my pet from home?

Yes. Our pet transport van runs between homes, the clinic and Entebbe airport.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the destination, your pet's size, the airline and how much documentation is required. Send us the destination and rough dates and we will come back with a written quote.

Still not sure?

WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach us. Send the destination, your pet's breed and rough dates and we will take it from there.
